Loyal Friend Bookshop began with a simple belief: everyone deserves a good book—and everyone deserves a place to belong.

Inspired by the line often attributed to Ernest Hemingway, “There is no friend as loyal as a book,” Loyal Friend is built around the idea that books are more than something we read. They are companions, conversation starters, teachers, escape routes, and sometimes the friends we need most.

We're starting small, without a permanent storefront, and building Loyal Friend one book and one gathering at a time. Through curated pop-ups, community events, and reading gatherings, we're creating the community we hope will one day fill our walls.

Books should belong to everyone.

A central part of Loyal Friend is our commitment to getting books into the hands of children & teachers. We believe every child should have books of their own—books they can choose, take home, reread, share, and treasure. We also help teachers build their classroom libraries.

Through donated books, monetary donations, and community support, we're working to provide free books to those who might not otherwise have them.

We're building more than a bookshop.

Our hope is that Loyal Friend will eventually become a welcoming gathering place for readers, curious people, families, hobbyists, and anyone who enjoys good people and good stories.

A place to discover a book you didn't know you needed.
A place to meet someone new.
A place to bring your kids.
A place to join a book club, play a game, learn something, or simply sit and read.

For now, we're taking the long way there—building the community first and letting the bookshop grow alongside it.
